When : May 3, 2026
Location : Liberty Heights Fresh

What really sets our sale apart, though, is the variety. We specialize in unique, heirloom plants you won’t find at big box stores—unusual vegetables, flavorful classics with a twist, and varieties chosen not for uniformity, but for taste, beauty, and curiosity. Grown using responsible practices that prioritize soil health, biodiversity, and long-term resilience, all without relying on harsh chemicals. These are the kinds of plants that reconnect you to what food can be: diverse, vibrant, and full of character.
Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or just getting started, our plant sale is a chance to explore, ask questions, and take home something truly special.
Planting Guide
Tomatoes: These like to be buried very deep! Saturate the coconut coir pot and make a deep hole or a trench if the tomato becomes too tall. You can break up the coir pot - we have found that the roots find a way! - but take off any baby/wilting leaves, leaving upper branches above the soil. Remember - you can bury them standing straight, or gently laying on its side using the “trench method”.
Peppers & Eggplants: Saturate the coconut coir pot and plant the pot in a deeper hole, but not as deep as the tomatoes. You can break up the coir pot - we have found that the roots find a way! - but take off any baby/wilting leaves, leaving upper branches above the soil.
Squash & Cucumbers: DO NOT DISTURB ROOTS. Plant coconut coir pot as-is into saturated soil.
Peas & Beans: DO NOT DISTURB ROOTS. Plant coconut coir pot as-is into saturated soil.
Sweet potatoes: Remove from pot and plant into wet soil.
Herbs & flowers: Saturate the coconut coir pot and lightly break it up with your hands to help free the roots if desired. Otherwise coir pot can be planted as-is.
Trees & Brambles: Dig a hole the size of the pot, take out of the pot and plant to current soil-level.
Coconut coir pots are natural and biodegradable.
ALL plants should be thoroughly watered when planted.
